August 23rd is a day that Brian Higgins has long feared. It’s Judgment Day—the day when the voters will hold him accountable for 35 years of failure. Brian’s high-priced lawyers kept Eddie Egriu off the ballot twice in the past. Now, we know why. Brian is afraid to talk about his record and is launching false and negative attacks on Eddie instead of talking about how the Buffalo area is doing on his watch. Brian, who is usually missing in action, has suddenly emerged from his bunker and is pretending to care about the community he has so sorely neglected.
How is Buffalo doing after Brian’s 35 years in city, state and federal positions?
Buffalo is one of America’s poorest cities with nearly 30 percent of residents under the poverty line.
Buffalo and Erie County have lost population for decades with long-time residents fleeing to other states.
Infrastructure has been neglected under Brian’s watch with raw sewage being dumped into our key waterways throughout Brian’s district including into: Lake Erie, Cazenovia Park, the Buffalo River, Delaware Park, the Niagara River, Black Rock Channel and Scajaquada Creek.
Tens of thousands of homes in Buffalo’s older and poorer neighborhoods are replete with lead water pipes while Brian votes to waste money on endless Middle East wars, political patronage, corporate welfare and foreign aid to corrupt governments.
While neglecting the needs of the poor and the working class, Brian rewards his wealthy donors with billions in special interest handouts. To cover up his schemes, Brian calls his friends “stakeholders.” Brian’s campaign finance reports are filled with donors from big law firms, big medicine, insurance companies and Wall Street, all of whom expect to receive special treatment that YOU PAY FOR! Thanks Brian!
While you suffer and Brian’s friends get wealthy at your expense, Brian himself is doing okay. He is double-dipping with a pension from New York State for being a part-time politician and a big fat congressional paycheck—$174,000 and a generous pension to come, all at your expense. Will YOU have a pension of over $100,000?

Eddie Egriu is running to finally give you a choice other than the failed past. Eddie is a small businessman and community activist who has created thousands of jobs and helped start dozens of businesses. He is not a professional politician, so he knows what it means to struggle to make ends meet like you do.
Unlike Brian, who is rarely seen between elections, Eddie will have an open-door policy and a dedicated cell phone number will be made public. You can call him or text him and he will get back to you. His door will be open and his mind will be open to your ideas to improve the community. Brian only talks to “stakeholders” (wealthy special interests).
Eddie cares deeply about the community that welcomed him as an immigrant 52 years ago. He cares about our recent arrivals and those whose families have been here for hundreds of years. We CAN all get along and thrive with new and better leadership that can bring us all together!
